Day Programme

The day programme runs from 9.30 - 3.30 pm three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  Individual programmes are worked out with each person at assessment depending on need and availability.  Whilst it is not compulsory to attend three days a week, for some this is recommended at least initially.

Morning sessions are spent in group work, looking at better ways of coping; understanding negative beliefs and how to overcome them.  The programme will aim to equip you with the necessary tools to respond in a more positive way to the traumatic events and memories of the past and to develop strategies for coping better in the future. We work together to help individuals set realistic goals for the day/week/month and provide a safe environment within which to support each other as we try to achieve these goals.

Afternoon sessions are less intensive and are spent on creative activities, fitness and nutrition, and relaxation techniques including mindfulness, compassion focussed work and breathing exercises for managing anxiety.

Is it for me?  Only you can answer this question.

However, this programme is all about enabling you to regain control of your life and to support you as you learn to walk in freedom. If you are committed to change, and willing to seriously address negative coping mechanisms, then this programme may be for you. The Recovery Programme is open to both male and females of any faith or none. Groups are mixed, set at a maximum of 10 people with an age range of 18 upwards, suffering with a wide range of difficulties.

For those unable to attend our main programme we also provide individual appointments.  Some people can be put off by the idea of group work but there are many benefits to be found in it and we would recommend giving it a go before ruling it out!  In addition to the day programme we also run a number of other groups and courses from time to time.  For those unable to attend during the day we run an evening support group.  For information on any of these other groups and workshops  please email us via the Contact page.
